WHAT
WE BELIEVE AS PRESBYTERIANS
We
believe in the majesty and mercy of God, who is the Creator, Redeemer,
and Sustainer of all, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, who is the
Savior of the world and the Lord of life. We believe that the church,
in the words of William Barclay, "is a body of people, not so much
assembling because they have chosen to come together, but assembling
because God has called them to Himself; not so much assembling to share
their own thoughts and opinions, but assembling to listen to the voice
of God."
We believe that grace is not something that God Himself gives us; it's
the way, totally unmerited and undeserved, that God gives Himself, and
that a Christian is someone who wants to and is trying to turn over
everything—body, mind, and soul—to everything Jesus Christ
is.
Worship is what you render to God when you believe that God is the greatest
and the best and that the Sunday worship hour is the most significant
hour in every Christian's week.
